1st Semester

My first semester consisted of 4 classes, 12 credit hours. I take only night classes since I work full time during the day. I have Accounting I on Monday nights on the Brewton Campus. College Algebra on Wednesday night on the Brewton Campus. Fundamentals of Public Speaking on Thursday night on the Atmore Campus. And I had Microcomputer Applications on Friday nights and all day Saturday, however, this class on met for 4 weekends so that wasn't too bad.

My classes this semester were from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. I would work til 2:45, pick Caitlin up from school at 3, on Monday and Thursday I meet Mr. Ray (my stepdad) at my Granny's house at 4:15 and he takes the kids home with him. That gives me time to do a little studying before I have to be at class on Monday and on Thursday that gives me just enough time to get to Atmore. On Wednesday, I take the kids to Daddy and Wendy. Both Mama and Wendy make sure that the kids are fed supper and take their baths. Mama brings the kids home and puts them to bed at 8:00 and stays here with them until I get home from class. I pick them up from Daddy and Wendy and bring them home with me after class.

So far my 1st semester is going GREAT! I got an A in my computer class, I currently have a 96 average in my speech class, I have an 89.6 average in my algebra class (so close to an A) and I don't know my average in Accounting but all my test grades have been a 100 except for one and it was a 92.

We only have 3 weeks left in this semester and I will have successfully completed my first semester! I'm so excited!!

My new journey

Several of you have been emailing me and asking me how school is going. So, I decided to create a blog and to use that to keep you all informed about what's going on with my new journey. I decided around Thanksgiving that it was time for me to make some changes in my life. I decided that my kids deserve a better life that what I can give them right now, so I enrolled in classes at Jefferson Davis Community College, here in Brewton, AL.

In January of this year, I started my first semester. My plan is to take all my core classes at JDCC and then transfer to Huntingdon College, School of Business and Professional Studies. Huntingdon offers classes at the JDCC campus in Brewton as well. The Huntingdon program is a little different, because there you take one class, one night a week, for 5 weeks and then you are finished with that class. Hopefully, if all goes as planned, I will be completely finished with my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in about 2 years.

It's not a piece of cake to do this as I'm sure you all can imagine but my Mom and Stepdad along with my Dad and his girlfriend have been a big help! We created a schedule for them with the kids and they all help me out a whole bunch with the kids. I couldn't do it without their help! And I greatly appreciate it!! The kids have actually adjusted very well and have been super troopers so far! They are so cute when it's test time for me or when I have homework due, they want to know what I make on everything. And they are very encouraging and positive, always reassuring me that I can do this. It's so wonderful to have such amazing kids! Caitlin and Tristan are the light of my life and I love them so much! And everytime I get a little down and aggravated with the stress of going back to school, I just remember that I'm doing this for them.
